I believe we should have an American-based constitutional system of checks and balances on power.
Votes in the house of nations could be divided differently than just one per member. I believe that it should more closely resemble the US House of Representatives, while the Senate models the US Senate. The house of nations should be based on a few different factors like population, if the nation is a member of the WA, and tenure in the WS. The senate should be equal though, with each nation having one vote.
If these ideas are furthered, I can create a formula for calculating number of votes available to each nation in the House of Nations.

Here are the 3 things that would make up the formula:

1 vote for every 10 Million citizens a nation has.
1 vote for every 3 days a nation is in the WS.
25 votes if a nation is in the WA.

    # Votes HoN = (population/10,000,000) + (length of days in WS/3) + (25 if WA or 0 not WA)

    What do you think?

I'm liking how its looking. The only issue i have is that the population of NationStates grows exponentially, and I don't know how we can continually keep track of votes.

We could have a vote keeper. Have the Speaker of the house update the votes once a week

I motion to go to a single-legislature system due to the simplicity of it.

I motion to enact a formula based legislature to keep the power in the hands of the people while our nation is small. when we grow too large to maintain it, we should move to a one body legislature system.
